My Review
I've really enjoyed all of the Birch Creek books by Kathleen Fuller. I've read all of them and their all winners. This is the third book in the Amish Brides of Birch Creek series.
This is Selah and Levi's story. Selah lives with her brother and his wife but wants to make her own way in life. To do so she must be gainfully employed and save up money to do so. Levi Stoll and his father are newcomers to Birch Creek working to open a new Amish Bed and Breakfast Inn. Problem is there is also another new Inn opening close by and it's their competition.
When Selah is hired on at Levi and his father's Inn she's happy and starts to change for the better. Now Selah has a difficult time with some things but because of embarrassment she doesn't want to talk about it. The author does a real nice job of handling this sensitive subject.
Also continuing the story from previous books are secondary characters Richard and Cevilla, an older couple who are struggling with some issues in their relationship and I must say it was so nice to see an older couple relationship because we are not all in the first blush of love but still enjoy reading romance.
There are really several story lines running here at the same time . You really get a sense of the Amish community reading this and realize like us they have plenty of their own problems to sift through. Charming characters and an intriguing plot will keep you reading. I really enjoyed this heartwarming book a lot and look forward to reading many more books by this author. GoodReads Summary
Bestselling author Kathleen Fuller returns to the Amish community of Birch Creek, where an inn provides the perfect backdrop for romance. Levi Stoll moved to Birch Creek with his widowed father, sister, and grandmother to run a much-needed inn in the small town. Within this thriving community Levi has found his purpose and joy in the new inn. It doesn’t hurt that the move also provides him a fresh start, leaving behind some mistakes he’d much rather forget. Selah Ropp has returned to Birch Creek after trying to outrun her own unhappiness. Genuinely glad to be back with old friends, Selah starts to work at the inn and can’t deny the sparks that fly between her and the handsome innkeeper. He’s like no man she’s ever met. But Selah has a past, and she knows Levi will reject her if he discovers it. What she doesn’t know is that Levi is overcoming his own past mistakes while trying to ignore his attraction to his employee. With Kathleen Fuller’s trademark humor and memorable characters, The Innkeeper’s Bride reminds us all that with God’s grace, the past is forgotten and love will reign supreme.
