Klarysa Tutko, a young single mother, moves to Caribou, Minnesota, where her family is now living, to put her life back in order. All she wants is to leave the past in the past; though a family friend has other ideas and persuades her to make a promise that she is unwilling to keep.

My Thoughts

Unwilling Promise means a promise to a dying woman her husband and best friend make to her. The story was interesting in the sense I learned about an Ukrainian wedding and their customs. There were a lot of sensitive subjects covered in this short book which made the book have a dark undertone. It had a depressing feel to it. Published November 11th 2016 by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform I was given a complimentary copy from Celebrate Lit. Thank you. All opinions expressed are my own.
