A Gingerbread Romance (Review)

My Review

What could be better for the holidays than a Hallmark movie? Well how about a holiday Hallmark book? They are every bit as charming and feel good as the movies, maybe even better as you can let your imagination do the work.

This sweet, clean romance was a jolly good read and

had all the heartwarming feels. Can you resist a gingerbread cover like this book has?

I couldn't and am glad I didn't.

A gingerbread house building contest, a few near mishaps,a sweet little girl and her handsome widowed baker father and the possibility of a romance with a take charge jet setter woman.

Is there any way a romance a romance could be baked up in this winter wonderland tale? This book will put you in the mood to start your holiday baking. Expected publication: September 17th 2019 by Hallmark Publishing. I was given a complimentary copy of this book. Thank you. All opinions expressed are my own

GoodReads Summary

Nothing could be sweeter than knowing your heart is at home…

Taylor’s architectural firm enters her in a contest in which the teams will design and build life sized gingerbread houses. After the contest, Taylor will likely be getting a promotion to a position in another city. But Taylor’s original partner soon backs out, and she needs to find a replacement.

When she meets Adam, a baker and single dad, at a local bakery, she convinces him to partner with her for the contest. After all, winning would give the bakery and his designs much needed exposure. For years Taylor has been resistant to call anywhere “home” for fear it would only be temporary. But the time she spends with Adam and his daughter Brook in their cozy home, decorating for Christmas, and enjoying Philadelphia’s holiday traditions, fills her with a longing for a place to call her own.

About The Author

Lacey Baker, a Maryland native, lives with her husband, three children, grandson and English Bulldog in what most would call Suburban America--a townhouse development where everybody knows each other and each other's kids. Family cook-outs, reunion vacations, and growing up in church have all inspired Lacey to work towards her dreams and to write about the endurance of family and the quest to find everlasting love. To date she has written in several genres including small town romance, YA paranormal (as Artist Arthur), a cozy mystery series titled Rumors and adult paranormal (as A.C. Arthur).
