Book Summary
Journey now to healing spa town of Glenwood Springs, Colorado in 1885 Where the past and present collide and a woman is on the precipice of unexpected love. Millie Cooper, fisherman’s-daughter-turned-nurse, flees a painful entanglement with the wealthy Drexel family who summered near her childhood home in Nantucket, only to encounter them again six years later in Glenwood Springs. The serenity of Millie Cooper’s mountain hideaway in a town with healing springs is disrupted when she faces caring for the elderly mother and the expectant wife of Stephen Drexel, the man she’d once loved—at the request of John Drexel, the man who’d kept them apart. Will Millie forgive the wrongs she feels were done to her, or will she come to see them as a blessing in disguise that lead her to greater joys? More from My Heart Belongs in Series... My Review
I have read almost all of the My Heart Belongs series and while I enjoyed all of them this one has been my favorite one so far. I really love the fact that each one features a different city and we learn about the beauty of it and what it's unique for. Glenwood Springs has beautiful healing springs. When she was little more than a young woman Millie Cooper was set to marry Stephen Drexel but his brother put a stop to it. Feeling wronged this fisherman's daughter who grew up dirt poor and has now become a nurse is summoned by this brother to care for his elderly mother and Stephen's expectant wife. Can she do this, after all this is the woman who made her feel as if she was never good enough for her family and also the woman who is now Stephan's wife. When you're a nurse, professionalism must win out over any petty thoughts. Millie works hard to guard her heart but she's not perfect and I love seeing her real life struggles and how she calls on God in her times of need. The character's are very well developed. This is the author's debut book and it's on my keeper shelf as the story is worth reading again. Pub Date 01 May 2018 I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing, Inc.
